Shorter radiation therapy better for early stage breast cancer
MD Anderson radiation oncologists have found that a shorter course of radiation treatment for women with early stage breast cancer results in fewer toxic side effects and improved quality of life compared to those who undergo a longer course of treatment. The study, published in JAMA Oncology, indicates that women should be aware of this option when making treatment decisions.
