Preventive gynecologic surgery an option for women with BRCA mutations

Preventive surgery for women with BRCA mutations

Some women with known BRCA genetic mutations are having their fallopian tubes and ovaries removed to lower the risk of ovarian cancer. MD Anderson is conducting a clinical trial to study risk-reducing outpatient surgery options and their effectiveness at preventing ovarian cancer.
