Heated Chemotherapy Offers Hope for Pediatric Patients
Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), or “heated chemotherapy,” is being used on pediatric patients diagnosed with desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) at MD Anderson. Andrea Hayes-Jordan, M.D., is the only surgeon in country performing HIPEC on children with this rare cancer.
