CANCER VACCINE TO PREVENT BREAST CANCER RECURRENCE

A peptide vaccine appears to reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence in women with varying levels of HER2 expression, according to research presented at the 2012 meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). This immunotherapy vaccine educates the immune system to recognize HER2 as an invader.
