Family-Centered Care
To ensure every child receives the best care, we involve parents and caregivers as vital members of the patient’s care team. The Children’s Cancer Hospital forms a partnership between families and health care professionals from the very first encounter to make sure family members are included in the day-to-day experience and in the overall decision-making processes of the hospital.
Family-centered care gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to:
- Suggest ideas and offer opinions
- Influence the planning and implementation of initiatives
- Give input on facility design, hiring process, policy making and patient care projects
Several projects are currently underway with guidance and input from our pediatric caregivers.
