Patient Access Center
The Children's Cancer Hospital Patient Access Center is staffed with a team of registered nurses and Patient Access Specialists who can assist families with the new patient process, including:
- Insurance: M. D. Anderson is a contracted provider for many HMO, PPO and traditional insurance plans. Because provider directories may be outdated, call the Patient Access Center to see if we participate in your plan.

- Governmental payers: We are a provider for Medicare, Tricare (military), Texas Medicaid, and certain Texas Medicaid and CHIPs HMOs.
- Clinical trials referral: Contact the Patient Access Center to see if your child may be eligible for a clinical trial at M. D. Anderson.
- International patients: If you live outside of the United States and have questions regarding treatment at M. D. Anderson, contact our International Center at (713) 745-0450, or toll-free from Mexico or Canada at (800) 811-6167.
