Alice Wang, Lymphoma

Alice Wang is accomplished!

In addition to English, she is fluent in Chinese, understands Taiwanese and also speaks Spanish. A talented pianist, Wang also plays the violin. She was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, at the top of her high school class, a stellar math student and was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students for three consecutive years. Alice took all of these academic successes to the University of Texas Business Honors program.

Alice credits her family as the key to all of her achievements. She and her mother are an organized duo with a focus on her goals. Always close, the two really bonded in 1994 when her father passed away from cancer. During this difficult time, they became each other’s support system and moved forward together.

This closeness was important for Alice and her mom when, at age 15, Alice was diagnosed with lymphoma. She has been off treatment for five years now. Alice uses her work ethic and her dreams to help her focus on what she wants to accomplish next.

Always an excellent student, Alice likes to have fun, too. She loves to play tennis and ping-pong, but considers chatting online with friends a sport as well. She caps it all with a creative streak.
