The TRANSCEND Cancer Initiative (TCI) is a TRANSlational researCh incubator for the trEatment, interceptioN, anD prevention of cancer.
TRANSCEND provides critical resources for translational research and networking opportunities for investigators in the division of surgery to facilitate high-impact translational research studies across disease-sites and to facilitate a team science network that will accelerate discoveries and innovation to treat, intercept, and ultimately prevent cancer.
The TCI works with investigators at MD Anderson to design and institute translational research studies, and to analyze samples from existing translational research efforts (such as from novel clinical trials, neoadjuvant / minimal residual disease (MRD) trials, institutional initiatives) with the goal of deriving novel targets to improve therapeutic responses for treatment in patients with cancer, and to develop strategies to intercept and ultimately prevent cancer altogether.
