- Interventional Cancer Prevention Program
The overarching goal of the Interventional Cancer Prevention (ICP) program is to develop cancer prevention interventions and improve health in individuals at risk of cancer, cancer patients and survivors and to improve outcomes among populations with limited access to care.
The overarching goal of the Interventional Cancer Prevention (ICP) program is to develop cancer prevention interventions and improve health in individuals at risk of cancer, cancer patients and survivors and to improve outcomes among populations with limited access to care.
The three aims of the ICP program
The ICP program was developed to enhance collaboration between wet lab-based investigators, interventional behavioral scientists and cancer prevention investigators, as many effective cancer prevention interventions require combined behavioral, medical and inoculation-based interventions.
Aim 1
Interventions Targeting Cancer Initiation Pathways
Discover biological pathways critical for pre-cancer and cancer initiation and develop targeted interventions against these pathways using ex vivo and in vivo models
Aim 2
Interventions for At-risk Individuals
Develop, test and deliver preventative, interceptive and symptom-control interventions in individuals to mitigate cancer risk and progression, and improve survivor’s outcomes
Aim 3
Interventions for Communities & Populations
Develop, test, implement and disseminate innovative interventions to improve cancer-related health outcomes among populations with limited access to care
