The Experimental Medicine Program (EMP) focuses on improving clinical outcomes for patients with cancer through the development of biomarker-driven novel therapeutic strategies.
The Experimental Medicine Program (EMP) focuses on improving clinical outcomes for patients with cancer through the development of biomarker-driven novel therapeutic strategies.
The three aims of the EMP program
The program brings together clinician-investigators with expertise across several solid tumor types and drug development, as well as experts in basic drug discovery, compound screening, data science, and artificial intelligence. Members of this program are at the leading edge of recent breakthroughs in oncology drug development, to include, among others, targeted therapies for RET-, KRAS-, and DNA damage repair (DDR)-aberrated cancers; cell therapies targeting mesothelin and MAGE-A4, and, more recently, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). With the overall goal of improving clinical outcomes for patients with cancer, especially patients for whom there are no standards-of-care or who have exhausted existing standards-of-care.
Aim 1
Innovative Clinical Trials
Hypothesis-driven trials with novel agents, combinations or modalities
Aim 2
Biomarker Discovery
Identify predictors of response and mechanisms of resistance
Aim 3
Novel Targets and Therapies
Discover new cancer vulnerabilities and develop new therapeutic strategies
