The Image-Guided Interventions and Insights (III) Program was created to reflect emerging cross-disciplinary emphases of imaging as a core thematic motif.
The Image-Guided Interventions and Insights (III) Program was created to reflect emerging cross-disciplinary emphases of imaging as a core thematic motif.
The four aims of the III program
Investigational and basic research tools for spatial assessment of therapeutic efficacy and normal tissue effects in vitro, translational applications across scales, and in vivo human image-guided interventions are all examples of how imaging is emerging as a core thematic motif. The program is predicated on efforts germane to spatially focused applications, distinctive from but synergistic with systemic or semantic data-driven modeling programs. The program will improve cancer outcomes and reduce toxicities with biology-informed, image-guided therapy.
Aim 1
Quantitative Tumor Imaging
Investigate quantitative imaging of disease characterization and response
Aim 3
Personalized Image-guided Therapy
Develop and clinically evaluate personalized, adaptive, image-guided therapy
Aim 2
Image-informed Multi-scale Translation
Explore biologically informed multi-scale imaging and therapeutic design
Aim 4
Normal Tissue Injury Mitigation
Evaluate prediction, image-based quantification and mitigation of treatment-related toxicities
