Decision Science Core Facility

The Decision Science Core Facility provides researchers with access to decision science expertise and state-of-the-art methods necessary to develop, evaluate, and disseminate shared decision making interventions to enhance the quality of cancer care decisions made by patients and their health care providers.

What are decision support tools?

Cancer decision support tools include patient decision aids, risk calculators, and other educational interventions to help patients and providers work together in making health care decisions across the cancer spectrum.  

These tools can support shared decision making by proving a framework for discussing options and tradeoffs, considering what is important to patients, and making decisions that most closely align with the values and preferences of patients.
