- Imaging Research
Our research revolves around three areas of investigation:
- The use of imaging to support decision making in radiation oncology
This includes the use of quantitative imaging to probe the tumor phenotype, and the use of imaging to localize and quantify normal tissue toxicities.
- Global health
There is an enormous shortage of staff and equipment for the treatment of cancer in low- and middle-resource regions. We are developing a research and development program to try to help with various aspects of these shortages.
- Image segmentation and deformable image registration
This section, led by Jinzhong Yang, Ph.D., focuses on the development of novel image segmentation and deformable registration approaches and the implementation of related software tools for radiation oncology applications.
All teams consist of radiation physics faculty, computational scientists and graduate students. Additional clinical support is provided by our radiation oncology and radiology clinical colleagues.
