Why Support Is Important

This year, about 22,000 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and about 15,000 women will die, making ovarian cancer the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers. Unfortunately, because there is no screening or early detection test available and the symptoms are subtle, only 25% of ovarian tumors are detected before they have progressed to an advanced stage.

2012 Sprint for Life Leadership

Founding families of the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program have accepted the honor of chairing this year’s milestone event.  A huge thank you to Kelli Blanton and Eddy Scurlock Blanton, Sr. and, Lee Davis and Gayle Goodman.
