How You Can Help
Please join us for the 16th annual Sprint for Life!
Last year's event was a huge success because of you! Help us to reach this year's goal of 3,000 participants.

This year's event is on Saturday, May 4, 2013!
Hosted by the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine since 1998, Sprint for Life has raised over $3.6 million for the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Laura Lee Scurlock Blanton and Sandra G. Davis are the courageous women for whom the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program is named..
On Race Day, survivors, their families and friends, businesses, and MD Anderson employees come together to achieve two goals:
- Raise funds for research
- Increase awareness about ovarian cancer and its symptoms
Why Support Is Important
This year, about 22,000 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and about 15,000 women will die, making ovarian cancer the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers. Unfortunately, because there is no screening or early detection test available and the symptoms are subtle, only 25% of ovarian tumors are detected before they have progressed to an advanced stage.
