Our lab is located on the third floor of the MD Anderson South Campus Research Building 4 (SCRB4), one of the newest buildings in the Texas Medical Center area. We're situated among other Experimental Therapeutics and Cancer Biology faculty, which makes for easy collaboration!
February 2025 | Hojong was appointed as an Assistant Member of the James P. Allison Institute to advance cancer chemical immunology

January 2025 | Hojong received UT System Rising STARs Award
Hojong received the UT System Rising STARs Award in the amount of $250,000. The Faculty STARs Program has evolved and expanded since its initial proposal, approved by The University of Texas System Board of Regents in August 2004. Its goal is to support the purchase of state-of-the-art research equipment and facilitate essential laboratory renovations, encouraging faculty members to conduct their research at UT institutions.
August 2024 | CPRIT Awarded a $2M Recruitment Grant to Hojong
Texans voted in 2007 to create the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) and to invest $3 billion in the state’s unprecedented fight against cancer. CPRIT is now a $6 billion, 20-year initiative — the largest state cancer research investment in the history of the United States.
On August 21, 2024, CPRIT approved $60.6 million in grants to advance the state’s fight against cancer. The grants fund a wide array of academic research projects, including CPRIT Scholar recruitment awards, innovative core facilities and developmental research focusing on promising new insights into the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of cancer. Among them, Hojong was awarded $2,000,000 (over five years) for his recruitment to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
