Biweekly Pay
Change to pay schedule coming Nov. 1
UT MD Anderson will transition to biweekly pay impacting most employees on Nov. 1, 2026. This means those impacted will receive a paycheck every other Friday, resulting in 26 paychecks per year. The first paycheck in the new schedule will be Nov. 20, 2026.
Who is impacted:
- Classified employees (about 85% of all workforce members)
- Educational appointees (about 6% of all workforce members)
Who is not impacted:
- Faculty and administrative staff (senior leaders and executives) will continue to be paid monthly.
- Out‑of‑state employees are already paid biweekly and will continue to be paid every other Friday.
Why the change:
- Employees will get paid sooner, with paychecks that are easier to understand.
- Speeds up the payment for overtime pay and gives employees a clearer picture of their total earnings each pay period.
What this means for employees:
- The number of paychecks will increase to 26 paychecks.
- Annual salary and hourly rate remain the same.
- Each paycheck is smaller because annual pay is spread out over more paychecks.
- Overtime, shift differential and other pay will be included on the same paycheck it is earned.
