MD Anderson's Past Presidents

Since its creation in 1941, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has been led by only four full-time presidents and one acting director. 

Their visionary leadership has helped the institution become recognized as the world's foremost center focused on cancer research, patient care, prevention and education.

Before Ronald DePinho, M.D., became president on Sept. 1, 2011, the following individuals made significant contributions to progress against cancer in Texas, the nation and the world:
