Overview
The Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) Core is located in South Campus Research Building 2 and has personnel with expertise in all aspects of Mass Spectrometry Imaging. The core provides spatial mapping of biomolecules from tissue sections using Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization (MALDI) and Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS). Please see the About page for additional information.
Getting Started
Persons wanting to submit samples to the MSI Core for analysis should contact Erin Seeley at (EHSeeley@MDAnderson.org) to discuss their project and the types of samples available prior to submission through iLab. The facility operates under Biosafety Level 2 guidelines.
Impact
The MSI Core aims to provide researchers with the knowledge and tools necessary to obtain high-fidelity spatial multi-omics data from tissue sections. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, as well as the personnel expertise, for sample preparation, data collection, and data analysis, and additional integration with other spatial-omics data.
