Seyyed Mostafa Mousavi Janbeh Sarayi, Ph.D.
Data Scientist

Mostafa Mousavi focuses on cancer health policy using statistical and machine learning methods. With a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, his background spans engineering, applied mathematics, healthcare science and bioengineering.

Sayaka Ishizawa, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow

Sayaka Ishizawa is a postdoctoral fellow with a Ph.D. in applied mathematics and statistics. Her research utilizes stochastic modeling to develop effective intervention programs for the early detection and prevention of ovarian and lung cancer.

Sara O. Nofal, M.D., Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow

Sara Nofal is a postdoctoral fellow at UT MD Anderson in Health Services Research and the Institute for Data Science in Oncology (IDSO). She is a physician-scientist with a Ph.D. in public health, advanced training in data science and a master’s degree in health professions education. Her research integrates artificial intelligence, machine learning, epidemiology and cancer prevention to develop predictive models that improve cancer screening, early detection, outcomes and risk-stratified decision-making.

Hyunwoo Shin, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow

Hyunwoo Shin is a postdoctoral fellow at UT MD Anderson in Health Services Research. His research focuses on healthcare operations and health policy, with an emphasis on simulation modeling, simulation optimization and statistical learning.
