Join Our Lab
We are actively recruiting interested graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to our lab. Join the Dunbar Lab today to aid MD Anderson's mission of Making Cancer History®!
Dr. Andrew Dunbar, M.D., is a junior physician-scientist faculty member within the Hematopoietic Biology and Malignancy (HBM) department at MD Anderson and is deeply committed to the mentorship and career growth of graduate trainees at all stages of their career. Individuals interested in gaining additional experience in the molecular pathogenesis of cancer, multimodal single-cell next-generation sequencing techniques, genetically engineered animal models of disease and pre-clinical/clinical drug development are encouraged to join!
The Dunbar Lab fosters a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on innovative cancer research. Life in the lab is driven by curiosity, teamwork and a shared passion for advancing science. Trainees and researchers work closely on projects exploring the molecular mechanisms of disease, leveraging cutting-edge techniques in molecular biology, bioinformatics and translational research. The lab values mentorship, professional growth and scientific rigor, encouraging open dialogue and creative problem solving. Whether it’s daily benchwork, lab meetings or celebrating milestones together, the Dunbar Lab offers a supportive and intellectually stimulating space where science thrives, and careers are shaped.
By participating in lab meetings, journal clubs and scientific presentations, our trainees are exposed to a wide range of research topics and methodologies, enabling them to hone their critical thinking and presentation skills. Additionally, we are committed to providing mentorship and guidance to help our trainees navigate their career paths and achieve their professional goals.
