How MD Anderson protects patients
At MD Anderson, our top priority is the health and safety of our patients and employees. Throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have continually adapted our processes in order to prevent the spread of infection, while being responsive to our patients and their loved ones.
In order to create the safest environment possible, every patient and employee is screened each time they enter one of our locations. Medical face masks are provided and required to be worn at all times. We are testing symptomatic patients and asymptomatic patients before their new patient appointment, surgery, and certain procedures and treatments to ensure safety.
The decision to restrict visitors was incredibly difficult, but our patients represent the largest and densest immunocompromised population in the world. MD Anderson policies are monitored daily to balance safety with our patients’ needs for emotional support from their family and friends.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we work to keep our patients and staff safe.
I feel completely safe...my team at MD Anderson helped me through this tough time.
