Sexual Medicine Fellowship
The Sexual Medicine Fellowship Program in the Department of Urology at UT MD Anderson is one of the world’s leading training programs in men’s health and sexual medicine.
This clinical fellowship is designed to develop expertise in the medical and surgical management of sexual dysfunction, with particular emphasis on patients experiencing sexual side effects following cancer treatment.
As part of one of the world’s premier academic and research institutions, the program offers a unique environment that fosters critical thinking, clinical problem-solving and practice-oriented clinical research relevant to the surgical management of sexual dysfunction after complex pelvic oncologic procedures.
Our goal is to cultivate future leaders in sexual medicine and to train outstanding prosthetic and reconstructive surgeons with exceptional clinical skills, strong research capabilities, and a passion for education and innovation.
A Letter from our Program Director
As program director, president of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), and past president of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), I am proud to introduce our world-renowned Sexual Medicine Fellowship Program in the Department of Urology at UT MD Anderson. UT MD Anderson has consistently been ranked the No. 1 cancer center in the United States by U.S. News & World Report, and the Department of Urology is recognized among the nation’s top urology programs.
The strengths of our fellowship include extensive clinical exposure and high surgical volume. Fellows receive comprehensive training in cutting-edge techniques and multidisciplinary approaches for both common and complex disorders related to sexual dysfunction following cancer treatments.
In addition, fellows have the opportunity to participate in innovative, practice-oriented clinical research in prosthetic and reconstructive urology, working alongside internationally recognized leaders in the field.
I invite you to explore our program and consider joining the UT MD Anderson community as a trainee in one of the world’s premier centers for sexual medicine and urologic oncology.

MD Anderson Cancer Center is committed to encouraging good health and staying true to our mission to end cancer. If you are applying for a GME fellowship or residency program starting on or after July 1, 2016, please be advised that MD Anderson will have instituted a tobacco-free hiring process as part of its efforts to achieve these goals. If you are offered an appointment, you will be subject to a Pre-Employment Drug Screen for tobacco compounds in compliance with applicable state laws. If you do not pass the urine drug screening which includes testing for tobacco compounds, you CANNOT be appointed at MD Anderson. Should you fail to meet this contingency, MD Anderson will withdraw your offer of appointment for the academic year. You may reapply for the following academic year, but there are no guarantees that you will be offered a position as many of our programs are already filled for several years out.
