Only Possible Here
How we redefined what is possible in FY25
Fiscal Year 2025 offers all of us at UT MD Anderson a powerful reminder: by redefining what is possible, we can turn challenges into opportunities, strengthen our foundation and advance our mission to end cancer.
Our Strategy, anchored in our Reach, Breakthroughs and Value themes, empowers us to adapt to external forces while inspiring progress and creating lasting impact. These themes are reflected in UT MD Anderson’s accomplishments this past fiscal year — showing remarkable momentum.
Driven by our Reach theme, we continued to make it easier for patients to access our expertise and build healthier futures. Advancing our Blueprint for Impact, we secured approval for a new state-of-the art patient care building, which will allow us to bring art, architecture and nature together for a supportive, holistic patient experience.
Elevating our Breakthroughs theme, our scientific experts published more than 3,300 peer-reviewed articles, including 406 in high -impact journals, and shared their discoveries at major oncology conferences around the world. UT MD Anderson’s academic programs also saw record enrollment as we trained the next generation of oncology professionals.
Delivering on our Value theme, UT MD Anderson received a five-star Vizient rating for quality and safety for the fifth consecutive year as we set new standards for high-touch, high-value care. Our exceptional access and clinical teams also met unprecedented demand — delivering hope, compassion and excellence when it mattered most. We opened clinical operations over three Saturdays this past summer, allowing patients to be seen weeks earlier than initially anticipated. Our teams also collaborated to maintain inpatient operations when a winter storm brought snow to our campuses in January 2025, seamlessly transitioning in-person appointments to virtual visits so patients could see their providers safely from home. When our financial forecasts revealed a budget gap, we embraced our core value of Stewardship and acted decisively, enabling us to finish the year exceeding our operating margin.
Once again, UT MD Anderson achieved prestigious milestones. For the eleventh consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranked UT MD Anderson No. 1 in cancer care. Our nurses earned a sixth consecutive Magnet designation — the first with Distinction — achieved by only 26 hospitals worldwide. National recognition from Forbes, the American Medical Association and Glassdoor affirmed our reputation as a preferred employer and our 27,000+ teammates’ commitment to Making Cancer History®. We further highlighted our excellence through a bold, new advertising campaign that connects our mission to end cancer with our unmatched expertise.
Thanks to our generous supporters, who gave a record $509 million in gifts and pledges in FY25 and propelled the November 2025 public launch of Only Possible Here, The Campaign to End Cancer, we are actively reshaping the boundaries of what can be achieved in cancer care, research, education and prevention. Landmark gifts, including a $150 million Kinder Foundation commitment to establish Kinder Children’s Cancer Center, a joint venture of UT MD Anderson and Texas Children’s, are enabling us to transform bold ideas into lifesaving realities for patients and families around the world.
Every goal achieved and every challenge overcome reflects what UT MD Anderson is capable of when we come together. We are redefining a future where innovation, compassion and excellence converge — where ending cancer is not only our mission, but our daily reality. As this year’s Annual Report shows, it is only possible here.
