Champions of impact
Every advancement in research, every moment of patient-centered care, every effort in prevention, education and training, and every facility at UT MD Anderson exists because of the generosity of people who share our vision to end cancer and choose to be part of this life-changing work. In FY25, significant investments from generous donors energized the efforts below and fueled extraordinary progress.
Kinder Children’s Cancer Center, a joint venture of UT MD Anderson and Texas Children’s
Kinder Foundation made a historic gift to establish Kinder Children’s Cancer Center, a joint venture of UT MD Anderson and Texas Children’s. As one of the most significant philanthropic contributions ever made to a U.S. pediatric hospital, this gift brings together the clinical and research expertise of Texas Children’s and UT MD Anderson with a singular mission: to end childhood cancer. This joint venture will enable us to offer more clinical trials and personalized care for children with cancer, accelerating cures and helping more childhood cancer patients live long, healthy lives.
Be Well™ Beaumont
Made possible by ExxonMobil, Be Well Beaumont, the newest focus of the Be Well Communities™ initiative, drives cancer prevention through sustainable, community-led strategies. This effort decreases cancer prevalence and paves the way for a healthier and more resilient Beaumont community.
Institute for Cell Therapy Discovery & Innovation
The James B. & Lois R. Archer Charitable Foundation, The Margery L. Block Charitable Foundation, The Cockrell Foundation, Meg and Kirk Gentle, Lindonlight Collective, the Melville Foundation and The Cyvia & Melvyn Wolff Family Foundation provided generous funding to benefit the Institute for Cell Therapy Discovery & Innovation’s groundbreaking efforts to develop innovative cell therapies. Bringing together top experts across fundamental, translational and clinical research, the institute is working to enhance treatment potency, reduce side effects associated with traditional treatments and dramatically lower the costs of life-saving care for patients with various cancers and other life-altering illnesses.
The late Melvyn N. Klein, a devoted UT MD Anderson Board of Visitors life member, fulfilled his vision by preserving the Melvyn N. Klein Family Endowed Directorship for the Institute for Cell Therapy Discovery & Innovation through a gift that reflects his lifelong dedication to UT MD Anderson and promises a future defined by progress and resilience.
James P. Allison Institute™
Jack and Judi Johnson, on behalf of the David and Eula Wintermann Foundation, made a transformative gift to the Allison Institute™ to advance talent, technology and clinical trials. This gift funds multiple researchers, recognized as Wintermann Scholars, including early-career scientists, established researchers and internationally recognized experts in their fields. It also supports clinical trials, helping to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact for cancer patients, while fueling innovation through technology.
Planning for the future
UT MD Anderson physicians, scientists and staff dedicate each day to building a better future for cancer patients and their loved ones. Planned gifts make this possible by fueling research, driving innovation, safeguarding hope and giving us the flexibility to plan strategically for the breakthroughs of tomorrow. In FY25, generous donors, including Douglas and Jennifer Bramwell, Steven and Sherry Bush, and Sanjay and Patricia Gupta, made extraordinary commitments that bring us closer to ending cancer.
