M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Offers Free Public Forum on Latest in Research
Aspen Residents, Guests Have Opportunity to Hear from Leading Cancer Sources

The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, represented by its president and key specialists, will host an interactive educational event on the latest in cancer research at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, July 29 in the Paepcke Auditorium in the Aspen Meadows Resort, 100 North Third Street.

The event is free and open to Aspen and area residents and guests.
 Speakers at the event include:

  • John Mendelsohn, M.D., president of M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, on new approaches to diagnosing, treating and preventing cancer.
  • Lorenzo Cohen, Ph.D., director of the integrative medicine program, on the growing role of complementary therapies in cancer treatment.
  • Kelly Hunt, M.D., chief of the surgical breast section, on emerging breast cancer therapies, surgical techniques and prevention strategies.
  • Robert Gagel, M.D., head of the Division of Internal Medicine on bone health in general, and especially during cancer treatment.

After the presentations, speakers will take questions from the audience.

M. D. Designated by the National Cancer Institute as one of the first three Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States, M. D.
