In keeping with the tradition of world leaders and famous personalities, former President Gerald R. Ford will be the featured guest for A Conversation With A Living Legend to benefit The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Oct. 24 at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel.

During the engaging interview format, the nation's 38th President will be interviewed by a celebrity journalist, who has yet to be announced, as a luncheon crowd listens in on the conversation.

"Finding out each year who our Living Legend honoree will be is definitely one of the highlights of working on this committee and on behalf of M. D. Anderson — it gives you a miraculous spark of energy to really move forward, plan every detail and knock on every door," says Dallas' Sally Hoglund, who is co-chairing the event with her husband, Forrest, the current chairman of M. D. Anderson's Board of Visitors.  "President Ford will be our latest great historic figure in a long line of true Living Legends."

Since 1980, A Conversation With A Living Legend  has raised more than $3.2 million to fund numerous cancer research initiatives and patient programs at M. D. Anderson.
