Shengqing (Stan) Gu, Ph.D.
Principal Investigator
SGu@mdanderson.org
Stan graduated from University of Toronto with a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics and did his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He joined MD Anderson Cancer Center as Assistant Professor in November 2022. Stan is interested in the regulatory mechanisms of cancer-immune interactions and is strongly committed to the professional fulfillment and career advancement of his trainees.
Wenjie Chen, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Wenjie earned his Ph.D. in Oncology from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center in 2022, specializing in the identification of genetic variants and epigenetic alterations in cancer using advanced bioinformatics methods. His expertise encompasses Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS), DNA methylation analysis and RNA-seq. He has contributed to the analysis of prospective cohort studies and randomized controlled trials. Wenjie's current research is centered on unraveling the evolutionary history of immune responses in cancer and identifying novel biomarkers for cancer immunotherapy.
He (Hok) Huang
Research Assistant II
Hok received his dental degree from Nanjing Medical University in 2020 and Master’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2023. Hok was previously a dentist and oral-surgical oncologist, but he later became interested in immunotherapy. His past experiences include the study of the expression regulator and application of PDL2 in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Currently, Hok is focused on the regulators of MHC-I in ovarian cancer as part of his dedication to exploring the field of immunotherapy. Beyond the lab, Hok likes to cook, hike and spend time with friends.
