The Broman Lab focuses on two primary research areas, which span the continuum of cancer care from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship. The first is cancer care delivery research into strategies used by health systems and networks to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, evidence-based cancer care. The second is cancer survivorship and best practices to monitor for cancer recurrence.
Meet Dr. Broman
Dr. Kristy Broman is an associate professor of Surgical Oncology at UT MD Anderson with a clinical practice in cutaneous surgical oncology. She also serves as Director of Surgical Health Services Research and Implementation Science within UT MD Anderson's national network of hospitals and health care systems. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where she earned her M.D. and M.P.H. She then completed residency in general surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which included a three-year research fellowship in the Veterans Affairs National Quality Scholar Program, a national training program in conduct of health services research, quality improvement and implementation science. She completed her two-year clinical fellowship training in surgical oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. She conducts health services and outcomes research, emphasizing implementation strategies for delivery of high-quality care across the cancer care continuum. She is funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
