Patient Visitation Policy
MD Anderson strives to create a supportive, caring and healthy environment for patients while promoting optimal patient care. This includes promoting the involvement of family, friends, and loved ones in our patients' care.
Our visitation policies prioritize the safety of our patients and employees and may vary depending on care needs and location.
MD Anderson monitors COVID-19 trends to ensure our protocols protect our patients with weakened immune systems. Adult patients can bring two adult (18 and older) visitors in addition to the caregiver with them per day. Everyone is required to pass entry screening and must wear the MD Anderson-issued face mask properly at all times, except when eating or drinking.
Due to safety concerns, patients or their visitor should not bring anyone else with them to an appointment. This includes children under 18 and adults who are unable to care for or move themselves. Appointments will be rescheduled if a patient or visitor arrives with someone who is dependent upon them for care.

Stay connected with your caregivers
We understand how important it is to have support when talking about your health.
We encourage you to use your phone or tablet to stay connected with your family and friends. You can also include caregivers virtually in discussions with your care team. If you are unable to use your phone or tablet while in the hospital, we can help facilitate virtual visits. Due to safety and privacy concerns, live continuous video streaming will not be permitted.
