Goal
This two-day conference will offer a comprehensive update on breast imaging, including breast MRI. The course will cover current concepts in breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and staging. Attention will be devoted to mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI. Additional topics include digital mammography, computer-aided detection, gamma imaging of the breast, breast surgery, breast pathology, and an update on breast medical oncology.
Target Audience
The conference should be of value to radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, mammography technologists, and sonographers.

Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to
- describe the latest advances in breast imaging that help to identify early stage breast cancers;
- discuss the use of MRI in high-risk screening to identify mammographically occult breast cancers;
- discuss the use of digital mammography in screening to identify small, node-negative breast cancers; and
- describe the use of MRI-guided biopsy to sample suspicious lesions identified only on MRI.
Evaluation
A course evaluation form will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content relative to their clinical practices, performance improvement activities, and the possible impact on patients’ health. Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics.
Accreditation/Credit Designation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Houston Radiological Society. The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
