The M. D. Anderson Cancer Center - Clinical Care Center in the Bay Area is located on the campus of CHRISTUS St. John Hospital: 18100 St.John Drive in Nassau Bay, off NASA Road 1 near the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. We offer convenience, direct appointment scheduling and free parking for patients. Services at Bay Area include:

Medical Oncologists

Amy Hassan, M.D.
Dr. Hassan received her medical degree in the Houston area at Baylor College of Medicine, where she also completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology and oncology. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has specific research experience in novel imaging techniques and therapies for breast cancer. In addition, Dr. Hassan has published reviews on blood disorders. Her clinical interests include the treatment of a broad range of hematologic diseases and cancers.Bay Area Staff Photo

Craig Kovitz, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Dr. Kovitz received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio and his fellowship training in medical oncology and hematology at M. D. Anderson. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Kovitz has participated in research studies on the treatment of pre-leukemic blood disorders and leukemia, as well as bone marrow transplantation. His clinical interests include a broad scope of solid tumor malignancies, as well as benign and malignant hematologic disorders.

Radiation Oncologist

Matthew Ballo, M.D.
Dr. Ballo received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, followed by an internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland and a residency at M. D. Anderson. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Ballo has extensive experience using the latest radiation therapy technologies. His clinical focus is on treating patients with soft tissue sarcoma, skin cancer, and genitourinary, breast, head and neck, and gastrointestinal malignancies.
