Wendy Woodward elected Vice Chair of Science Council
Members of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) recently elected Wendy Woodward, M.D., Ph.D., as Science Council Vice Chair among three new officers to ASTRO's Board of Directors. The officers will begin their terms in October during ASTRO’s 65th Annual Meeting in San Diego.
Woodward is a professor and chair ad interim of Breast Radiation Oncology, where she also serves as executive director of the Morgan Welch Inflammatory Breast Cancer Clinic and Research Program. She is a leading expert in the treatment and biology of breast cancer. During her Board tenure, Woodward will help direct ASTRO's scientific initiatives, including its grant and fellowship programs for early-career researchers.
Kristy Brock named Fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology
Kristy Brock, Ph.D., professor of Imaging Physics, has been named to the 2023 class of Fellows of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). She and the other Fellows will be recognized at an awards ceremony in San Diego on Tuesday, Oct. 3, during ASTRO’s 65th Annual Meeting.
Created in 2006, the ASTRO Fellows program recognizes individuals who have made substantial contributions to the Society and to the field of radiation oncology through research, education, patient care and service to the field.
