Parking Garages

There are three parking garages with easy access to MD Anderson. Two are operated by the Texas Medical Center (TMC), and the third is owned and operated by MD Anderson. 

TMC Garages

• Garage 10: open 24 hours a day, linked by sky bridge to the Main Building. Costs range from $2 (every 20 minutes) to $12 (up to 24 hours)
• Garage 2: open 24 hours a day, located near the Alkek Hospital entrance. Costs range from $2 (every 20 minutes) to $12 (up to 24 hours)

Mays Clinic/CPB Patient and Visitor Garage

The Mays Clinic/CPB Patient and Visitor Garage is located at the intersection of  Bertner and Pressler streeets. Use Entrance Marker 5 on Holcombe Blvd.

Valet Parking

Valet parking is provided at several major entrances. Vehicles are accepted and returned to The Aquarium (Clark Clinic) 24 hours a day. Valet-parked vehicles can be retrieved at any location during posted business hours, regardless of where the vehicle was originally parked. Rate: $15 for 0-24 hours. Fees

• Main Building, Rotary House and Mays Clinic: $15 flat rate
• Radiation Treatment Center: validation provided for first 2 hours; $20 thereafter

Car Drop Off Hours (subject to change):

• Main Building, Clark Clinic (The Aquarium): 24 hours a day/7 days per week
• Mays Clinic: 5:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. (or last patient)
• Radiation Treatment Center: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (or last patient) By appointment only ($20 after 2 hours)

Prepaid SmartChip Parking

Pre-paid SmartChips offer discounted rates and in-and-out parking privileges. If you plan to park for several consecutive days, or for repeated trips to the Texas Medical Center, consider purchasing one of the SmartChip options. 

5-Day SmartChip: $52

• Has loaded parking value of $60
• Best for inpatient hospital stays
• Active on first entry and expires after five consecutive days
• Use at entry and exit; no need to stop at the Pay Station
• Time remaining is displayed when used at entry and exit

Value SmartChip: $100

• Best for outpatient treatment
• $115 in parking value at cost of $100, an immediate
• 15% savings, not including in-and-out privileges
• Use at entry and exit; no need to stop at the Pay Station
• The remaining value is displayed when used at entry and exit
• A maximum of $12 is deducted for the SmartChip each calendar day

Remote Parking

The South Extension Lot is located one-half mile from MD Anderson at 1522 S. Braeswood Blvd. Fees are $6 per day. The Metro bus system operates a free shuttle throughout the day. Shuttles run every 20 minutes between 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.-midnight. The first shuttle leaves the lot at 4:30 a.m. and the last leaves MD Anderson at 12:07 a.m. 

Directions from MD Anderson Cancer Center:

1. Go east from MD Anderson on Holcombe Blvd. to first traffic light (South Braeswood Blvd.)
2. Turn right (south), go about 1-2 blocks until you cross bridge over Braes Bayou.
3. Turn left (east) at the first traffic light (William C. Harvin Blvd).
4. Drive through until you see the section for patients/visitors on right side. 

Transportation

MD Anderson ground shuttles are available for visitors traveling between the Main Building, Mays Clinic, Proton Therapy Center and Radiation Outpatient Center. The shuttles operate Monday-Friday, 5:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. 

Guests at Jesse Jones Rotary House International can ride a shuttle van to any location within a 1.5-mile radius of the Texas Medical Center.

Houston's METRO system can take riders virtually anywhere in town they want to go. Visit an Information Center or Concierge Desk for bus routes and schedules.

Rental cars: MD Anderson patients and their travel companions are eligible for auto rental discounts from Enterprise Car Rental (in Houston only). Reservations made be made through Patient Travel Services 1-888-848-9992 (5-2303 if calling from within MD Anderson). Enterprise can be reached directly by calling 800-593-0505 or 713-520-5558. Airport shuttle: Supershuttle.com offers service to both Houston airports from the Jesse Jones Rotary House International Hotel. From MD Anderson, approximate one-way cost to Bush Intercontinental Airport is $24 per person. Cost to Hobby Airport is $20 per person. Reservations must be made. Call toll free

Taxi service: Available at The Aquarium (Clark Clinic) entrance. Approximate cost from MD Anderson to Bush Intercontinental Airport is $50 and $30 to Hobby Airport.
