Histology and Tissue Processing

The histology core facility provides investigators with both routine and specialized histology and immunohistochemistry services, including preparation of frozen sections and RNase-free sections, antibody validation, and immunohistochemistry protocol development. Our dedicated immunohistochemist has developed optimized protocols for over 300 antibodies for use on mouse, rat and xenograft tissues. The core also provides technical assistance, training and consultation on histologic techniques. The core employs five experienced histology technicians, three of whom are certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Recent upgrades to the facility include an automated immunostainer and a new tissue processor.
