Radiology Image2The ability to see cancer inside a patient's body is crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment. M. D. Anderson's Division of Diagnostic Imaging has more than a dozen technologies available for radiologists to visualize tumors in both bone and soft tissue. From standard radiology to advanced techniques that can view the tiniest blood vessels, our radiologists take diagnosis, tumor staging and treatment planning to a whole new level.

are at the forefront of new advances in diagnostic imaging.
The Division of Diagnostic Imaging provides a full range of state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and therapeutic services (MRI,CT,Mammography,Nuclear Medicine,PET, Computerized Radiology and Digital Diagnostics,Ultrasound,Vascular/Interventional). For cancer patients, it means the most accurate diagnosis and treatment available anywhere, increasing the chances for success.

The Vascular & Interventional Radiology group in Diagnostic Imaging, along with other team members, perform minimally invasive procedures to fix cancer-weakened bones, deliver chemotherapy drugs directly to the tumor, and to treat some cancers without surgery. Our nuclear medicine specialists are creating new radioactive agents that are helping improve diagnostic test results.

The Division of Diagnostic Imaging administers fellowship programs and is operated in conjuction with The University of Texas Medical School Branch. The Division integrates each of its department's major educational patient care responsibilities with the Division's research goals.
