Welcome!

The Center for Cancer Epigenetics, one of several components planned for M. D. Anderson’s Institute for Basic Science, has been formed. It is co-directed by Sharon Dent, Ph.D., and Jean-Pierre Issa, M.D.

As part of the developing institute designed to foster collaboration among centers and departments with shared research goals, the new center will bring together faculty members focused on epigenetics, the study of heritable and acquired changes that affect gene expression and cellular differentiation without DNA sequence alteration.
