M. D. Anderson Cancer Manager is an oncology disease management program created to coordinate cancer care for patients in any community using M. D. Anderson's evidence-based guidelines. The program encompasses prevention, early detection and diagnosis through treatment and follow-up, with metrics to evaluate clinical outcomes and quality of life.
Whether care is provided by local community cancer specialists or by M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, the Cancer Manager program stands for:
Accessibility, Credibility and Teamwork
For Patients Through a Cancer Manager partner or insurance provider, a participant receives personal attention from a member services representative to deal with cancer-related issues and a nurse case manager to coordinate care.
For Health Care Professionals By joining the network, physicians and other health care professionals come together to provide the full continuum of cancer care with the support of upgraded access to M. D. Anderson guidelines, prevention resources, current research and clinical trials information.
