President's Volunteer Service Award
Do you volunteer? Would you like to track your hours, and even be recognized by the President of the United States for your service?
We know that a large number of our 16,000 employees have a long, proud history of volunteer service. Our volunteers alone play a huge role in Making Cancer History®. They, and our employees, serve MD Anderson and the community by volunteering here or at local community agencies, churches, United to Serve and many other establishments. So do the many employees across all campuses of The University of Texas System. Because the UT System feels it’s important to recognize everyone’s hard work, they’re announcing the availability of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national honor offered in recognition of volunteer commitment.
To receive this award, you have to submit your hours of service through an online tool that’s available 24/7. By logging in your volunteer activities, we can track your hours and recognize you with the President’s Volunteer Service Award annually (dates and event to be later announced).
If you want to record your hours, but prefer to remain anonymous, you can still do so, but won’t be eligible for an award.
Service hours can be accumulated through work on a variety of projects throughout the year. The only requirement is that the necessary hours for the award be completed within a 12 month period.
