At MD Anderson, we know that the cancer experience includes more than just treating the disease. We offer a range of support services to help all of our patients achieve maximum quality of life both during and after cancer treatment.
Nurse navigation: Our caring staff wants to make your experience the best it can be. Our breast cancer patients are guided through every step of their treatment by an experienced nurse navigator. In addition, patient specialists can help with coordinating paperwork, appointment scheduling, patient education and communicating with your family physician.
Nutritional assessment and education: Maintaining a proper diet during cancer treatment is essential for a successful outcome. Professional dieticians provide nutrition assessment and education for all patients.
Psychosocial support: Cancer patients need to know they are not alone in their fight. A social worker is available for counseling, access to support groups and links to support resources in your community.
