Our Services

The Regional Care Center in the Bay Area treats all kinds of cancer. We offer many of the same patient services as the main campus, with more being added every day. We want to assure patients that they are getting the same world-class standard of care in a comforting community setting.

Diagnostic Services

The Regional Care Center in the Bay Area offers complete suspicion of cancer services. If you have a lump or other troubling symptoms, we can let you know whether or not it is cancer and provide treatment and management of your condition, no matter what the diagnosis.

Treatment Support Services

Medical oncology and hematology: We treat a wide variety of solid tumors, leukemia, lymphoma, and benign blood disorders.

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) with linear accelerators equipped with the industry's latest technologies.

Accelerated partial breast irradiation: Also known as APBI, this advanced, minimally invasive radiation treatment is available for lumpectomy patients.

Outpatient chemotherapy: services are provided in comfortable treatment suites with easy access to the clinic and free parking.

Clinical trials: As a pioneer in cancer research, MD Anderson offers access to hundreds of clinical trials, many of which are available exclusively at MD Anderson.

Pain management: Up to 75% of cancer patients will experience pain at some point during or after their treatment.  Managing cancer-related pain close to home means a quicker return to normal life.

Laboratory services: Services include regular blood work for chemotherapy patients and diagnostic blood work for those with a suspicion of cancer. Lab services are available at all regional care centers for all MD Anderson patients, regardless of their treatment location.

Patient Support Services

At MD Anderson, we know that the cancer experience includes more than just treating the disease. The Regional Care Center in the Bay Area offers a range of support services to help all of our patients achieve maximum quality of life both during and after cancer treatment.

New patient navigation team: Our caring staff wants to make your experience the best it can be. Patient specialists can help with coordinating paperwork, appointment scheduling, patient education and communicating with your family physician.

Nutritional assessment and education: Maintaining a proper diet during cancer treatment is essential for a successful outcome. Professional dieticians provide nutrition assessment and education for all patients.

Psychosocial support: Cancer patients need to know they are not alone in their fight. A social worker is available for counseling, access to support groups and links to support resources in your community.
