Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance
Since 1989, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance has provided emotional, educational and practical support for families of children with cancer. The Children’s Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson works with Candlelighters to support a staff of parent consultants at the hospital.
Our parent consultants know what it’s like to have a child with cancer and are here to help other children and families cope with the day-to-day trials of dealing with cancer. As part of their program, they facilitate a weekly parent support group, share their knowledge with families from first-hand experience, and help families find any additional resources or support they may need.
