Program Description
This conference is geared toward assisting cytotechnologists in preparing to take the ASCP Molecular Biology certification examination by providing lectures, printed course materials, and 2 mock registry exams with descriptive answer keys. Material has been updated to reflect new content material on the MB(ASCP) examination. Sunday is a hands-on wet workshop.
Objectives
After completion of this conference, participants should be able to:
- Discuss basic concepts of molecular genetics
- Describe integral concepts of molecular testing
- Identify the applications of molecular testing for detecting genetic diseases

- Enter the Texas Medical Center at Entrance 2 off Holcombe Blvd., park in Garage 10, and enter MD Anderson through the Floor 3 bridge from Garage 10

Enter the Texas Medical Center at Entrance 3 off Holcombe Blvd., park in Garage 2, and enter MD Anderson from the street
TMC parking rate is $12.00 per day - Once inside the MD Anderson building, follow the "Access" wayfinding signs to Elevator D, travel to Floor 2, turn left as you exit the elevator, and follow the "Access" wayfinding signs to the "School of Health Professions." The workshop will take place in room Y2.5809.
