The University of Puerto Rico is one of the largest institutions of its kind in Latin America. It is a state university comprised of 11 campuses around the island. The Medical Sciences campus includes the Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center. The mission of the Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center is to promote basic sciences, clinical and epidemiological research in cancer prevention and control in Puerto Rico. In addition, the center supports programs in cancer information and education for the public, patients and health professionals. It is our hope that the center will become a center of excellence in cancer prevention, research and outreach for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
