Career Development Award Writing Group

The Career Development Award Writing Group is an informal, participatory group designed to assist trainees writing or getting ready to write a career development award application. The group meets seasonally, usually once every two weeks for a period of several weeks, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in CPB 7.3555. (Meetings are usually held on Tuesdays, but day of the week is subject to change.) Led by Dr. Shine Chang, the group shares questions, concerns, and ideas for preparing successful award applications. All MD Anderson trainees who are writing or planning to write a CDA are welcome. Contact Dr. Shine Chang for details.

DCPPS Discussion Group

The Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences Discussion Group is an informal book club and discussion group open to all MD Anderson trainees.  The Discussion Group meets every second Wednesday from 1:15-2:30 p.m. in CPB7.3555.  While the group is primarily designed to assist speakers of languages other than English to practice advanced-level English and gain insights into US research/academic and social culture, the group is open to all. Examples of books discussed include “Intuition” by Allegra Goodman and “The Emperor of All Maladies” by Siddhartha Mukherjee.  You may join at any time, and it is not necessary to have read the material in advance. Contact Dr. Carrie Cameron for details.
