Annual Presidential Career Symposium
The Presidential Career Symposium connects postdoctoral fellows and graduate students with personal and informational career networks, both within and outside academia. Trainees have the opportunity to learn important steps to pursue specific career paths, and in addition, the Symposium serves as a forum to engage in discussion on how to apply the training experience toward future professional goals. Hosted by the postdoctoral associations of MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Methodist Research Institute, Rice University, Texas A&M and UT-Health, the Symposium is open to postdoctoral fellows and graduate students from all these institutions.

Annual Postdoctoral Science Symposium (APSS)
The Annual Postdoctoral Science Symposium (APSS) was initiated on August 4, 2011 by the MD Anderson Postdoctoral Association to provide a platform for talented postdoctoral fellows to present their work to a wider audience. After an overwhelmingly successful debut last fall, we chose “Collaborative Research: Moving Science Forward” as the theme for this year’s symposium, to showcase the absolute need for multidisciplinary “team science” in Making Cancer History®.
Our ultimate vision is to develop this event into a national symposium that incorporates all Texas Medical Center affiliated institutions providing postdocs from near and far with a unique opportunity to learn, interact, and foster new collaborations. With your support and participation, we can make this happen.
3rd Annual Postdoctoral Science Symposium, August 1st 2013, Onstead Auditorium
Please join us as we welcome Dr. Irving Weissman from Stanford University School of Medicine as our keynote speaker. Other distinguished speakers include Dr. Raghu Kalluri (MD Anderson), Dr. Renata Pasqualini (MD Anderson), and Dr. Michael White (The University of Texas Southwestern).
In addition to faculty presentations, there will be a lineup of talks given by select postdoctoral fellows from both MD Anderson and Baylor College of Medicine. At lunchtime, there will be an open research poster session followed by breakout forums focusing on advanced technologies used in cancer research here at MD Anderson. We hope to see you there!
