Professional Education for Prevention & Early Detection (PEPED)

The PEPED program is designed to educate diverse groups of health care professionals.  The professionals teach state-of-the-science practice and research in cancer prevention and early detection methodologies.  Unique learning experiences are provided to nurses, nurse practitioners, primary care physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals who want to develop or enhance their skills in cancer prevention, screening and early detection.  Classroom sessions, e-learning opportunities, and simulated/standardized clinical practice prepare health care professionals to return to their hospitals and practices equipped to provide high-quality, evidence-based prevention, screening and early detection services.

Hands-on Training, World-Class Education, Individual Attention

PEPED is one of just a few programs that offer prevention and screening instruction and clinical experience at a major cancer center. Clinical practice is a vital part of our professional curriculum, because we know how important patient contact is to learning. You’ll learn top-notch screening and early detection techniques from leaders in the cancer detection and prevention fields, while benefiting from small class sizes. With just four to six people per class, you’ll receive individual attention and intensive education.
