Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology Fellowship
The Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology Fellowship Program is for physicians interested in the study of aerodigestive malignancies, with an opportunity to work in lung cancer, head and neck cancer, or phase I drug development. Trainees will learn clinical care in these areas as well as design and analysis of clinical research trials, and will be able to choose a more specialized focus.
The Department of Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology, under the leadership of Scott M. Lippman, M.D., includes a research and clinical team that sees approximately 60 new patients or consults weekly. These patients are distributed among the 18 clinical faculty members, and approximately 30% are placed on clinical trials. This tremendous clinical resource serves as the basis for the fellowship program.
Program applicants must hold an M.D. degree. Residency training in internal medicine is required and fellowship training in medical oncology is preferred. Completed applications must be submitted by December 31.

- Proof of fellowship training in medical oncology, if applicable
- Licensure Exam Transcripts (USMLE board scores)

- Curriculum vitae
- A 500- to 1,000-word essay of a research proposal with one hypothesis about aerodigestive tumors

Applicants are interviewed by January 31, and the Fellowship Program Committee will recommend applicants by March 1. Approved candidates start the fellowship program on July 1.
