Lectures

Core Didactics

Tuesday educational lecture begins in August and runs until May. Schedules are e-mailed at the end of each month.

Pain Management Grand Rounds

Grand Rounds lectures occur weekly and cover a wide range of topics related to pain management. Lectures are open to anyone wanting to attend. Fellows are required to present “niche topics” at Grand Rounds throughout the course of the program year. Fellow presentations must be approved at least one month in advance.

Morbidity and Mortality/ Journal Club/ Research Meeting/ Clinical Case Conference

These lectures are scheduled once a month, which offer fellows a chance to improve their diagnostics and presentation skills.

Interventional Procedures

Our service has a rich history of performing various anesthetic techniques for pain management. Fellows are offered the opportunity for additional training in less common procedures such as implantable devices (spinal cord stimulators, intrathecal pumps and catheters, etc.). Some common procedures include epidural catheter placement, celiac plexus blocks and stellate ganglion blocks.

Oncology Core Curriculum

MD Anderson Faculty offers the Core Curriculum to all trainees enrolled in Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) programs. The series provides fellows with a strong foundation in clinical oncology and the conduct of clinical trials.

Teaching Responsibilities

Fellows are randomly asked to present at weekly conferences (e.g., presenting cases in the clinical case conference). Please select a faculty member to help you with your presentation. Lectures need to be approved by the program coordinator before presenting.
