Am I eligible to apply?

Students who are interested in pursuing a career in cancer research and are currently enrolled in college/university are eligible. 

Do you accept International students?

VISA sponsorship may be possible, if there are any questions or concerns, please contact the VISA Department at visa@mdanderson.org.

When does the program start?

June 3, 2013 to August 9, 2013

Are the program dates flexible for start and end dates?

If dates conflict with your undergraduate academic schedule, please contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.

What is the application deadline?

February 28, 2013

How will I be notified about the status of my application and when?

Students will be notified by email letter between March 18 and March 29, 2013.

How much is the stipend?

$5,000/$500 per week worked for 10-week program

Is housing available?

Various housing options are available. The student pays for housing from the stipend and will need money for deposit/move-in costs up front.

Where can I find a list of mentors and their field of expertise?

How am I matched with a mentor?

Committee Review matches students with mentors from your statement of research interest.

When will I be notified of my mentor?

Students will be notified by April 26, 2013.

Do we receive vacation time?

This is a temporary position; therefore, it is not eligible for vacation benefits or holiday pay.

Are we covered for health insurance?

This is a temporary position; therefore, it is not eligible for insurance benefits.

Is there parking available to students?

Students can obtain parking through Trainee & Alumni Affairs for a discount cost – please request a Student/Trainee Application for parking.

What are the modes of transportation at MD Anderson Cancer Center for students?

MD Anderson has shuttles to transport employees between buildings. ID Badges must be presented upon entry to shuttle.

What things are there to do outside of MD Anderson Cancer Center?
