Abstract Information

Call for Abstracts

Deadline for abstract submissions is Friday, September 20, 2013.

Abstracts for the Poster Session may be submitted to Ms. Dana Garrison, e-mail: DLGarrison@mdanderson.org; Tel: 713-563-2364. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

Physicians, Physicists, biologists, dosimetrists, fellows, trainees, postdoctoral, nurses and other health care professionals are encouraged to submit abstracts for poster presentations for the International Stereotactic Radiotherapy Symposium conference for health care professionals.

Abstracts will be accepted for the following categories:

  1. Clinical projects related to stereotactic radiosurgery or stereotactic body radiotherapy
  2. Physics and planning projects related to planning optimization, quality assurance and delivery of stereotactic radiotherapy
  3. Biological studies related to hypofractionated radiotherapy, immunotherapy and target therapy

Abstract Instructions

Abstracts will be screened for relevance to stereotactic radiotherapy optimization, novel technologies, quality assurance, image-guided delivery, combination with biological treatment and biological mechanisms. 

Structure abstracts using the following mandatory format:

  • Purpose or Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. If not applicable to your abstract, make a note of it in the appropriate section of the abstract.
  • The entire abstract (title and body) must not exceed 2,000 characters (not including spaces), which is approximately 300-350 words.
  • Limit poster abstracts to one page, typed single-spaced on plain 8.5 x 11 inch paper.
  • Abbreviations may be used if they are spelled out or defined at the first mention.
  • One table, graph, or illustration may be included in the abstract.

Submission Instructions

Please include the name of the conference, title of your presentation, author’s full name, highest degree, mailing address, and institutional affiliation. Also, please include author’s telephone, fax, and e-mail information. The conference executive committee will select abstracts for poster and/or possible oral presentation on the basis of their scientific merit and content quality. If selected, you will receive a confirmation letter with detailed information about the poster session. The content of the abstracts will not be edited. Freestanding 4’ x 8’ display boards will be provided for displaying posters. Certification of your presentation will be issued if your abstract is selected to present.
