MD Anderson presents 10th Making Cancer History® Seminar in West Palm Beach
Experts reveal latest knowledge in breast and prostate cancers, prevention

Renowned oncologists from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center return to West Palm Beach Jan. 31 for the institution’s well-known Making Cancer History® educational seminar. Doctors will discuss their innovative research in breast and prostate cancers, share vital cancer prevention tips and update attendees on breakthroughs made possible by the Moon Shots Program, MD Anderson’s unprecedented effort to rapidly reduce cancer deaths.
The seminar, in the Cohen Pavilion of the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, 701 Okeechobee Blvd., begins at 8:30 a.m. with a breakfast buffet.
Presentations start at 9 a.m. featuring:
• Ron DePinho, M.D., MD Anderson president
• Ernest Hawk, M.D., vice president and division head, Cancer Prevention
and Population Sciences
• Christopher Logothetis, M.D., chair and professor, Genitourinary Medical
Oncology, and co-leader of the Prostate Cancer Moon Shot
• Kelly Hunt, M.D., professor, Surgical Oncology
Since opening in 1944, more than 980,000 people have registered as MD Anderson patients. From Florida, 26,338 people have sought diagnostic treatment or prevention services, including 7,140 patients from the Palm Beach area (Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Broward counties). In Fiscal Year 2014, more than 410 new patients came from this area.
